I have used my VC bat for two seasons now and let me tell you, it can hit boundaries with ease. The weight is perfect for me and allows me to play classic or big (big is my style) shots.

Love my Village Cricket short handle bat. Managed to get a good few runs in her last season. Best of 97 (caught out by my team mate sub fielding 🤦🏻♂️) Makes a lovely sound off the middle. Picks up very comfortably and is great value. Looking forward to 2025 and hopefully going 3 better. Great customer service and love the company’s philosophy. Keep up the good work.

My Village Cricket Co long handled bat (christened 'Vic') goes like a dream. His first outing with me ended in a swift 8 (2). Next came a more considered 37 (61) to grind out a draw. Vic's good in defence & attack, a nice light pick-up & sweet middle.
Looks good too. In fact, I think this Village Cricket Co bat, whilst considerably cheaper than all of my previous bats, is by far the best I've used. Unfortunately my son thinks so too & has stolen it!

Managed 44 yesterday on a first outing with the new bat including x7 fours and a six. Plenty of interest from the lads on both teams who saw and heard a great ping when managing to find the middle.
Good balance and a great pick-up - an absolute bargain for the money.

PROS: Really well-weighted and comfortable in the hand, light enough to improve timing and confidence to defend or attack while still enabling you to reach the boundary.
CON: Scored 72 for the first time in a senior game yesterday and woke up to my body feeling like I've been jumped into a gang...be careful what you wish for!

Still can't quite believe that this bat is under £120. Used it for the first time on Saturday and scored 52 (first 50 of the season).
What these guys are doing to support the club cricketer is amazing and everyone should get behind them. I'm now using the full kit bat, pads and gloves every week. Great pick up, excellent middle as it really flies. Thanks guys

Not at all. We’ve done it for you, don’t spend hours of your life annoying everyone banging your bat with a mallet to knock it in. Or worse, pay over the odds for other brands to do it for you.

All of our bats are created India. Made from the Salix Alba willow grown in the Kashmir region of India. Similar to that of what Sachin Tendulkar used during his early career.

There are a few ways we are able to keep the price down for you:
- The bat is sourced directly from the manufacturer, cutting out any middlemen
- In each size, we only offer 1 design, style and weight
- Keeping it simple, we don’t sponsor professional players adding unnecessary costs
What does ready to play mean?
What does ready to play mean?
Ready to play means that our bats are pre-knocked in at factory by a machine. So your new bat is essentially ready to take straight into action without hours of knocking in using a mallet. However. we do still advise easing into using it starting with softer balls from slower bowlers in the nets.

All of our bats are made from grade G1+ Kashmir Willow. We spent two years testing different types of willow and found this perfect for village cricket. We wrote up our experiences during our research if you wanted to learn more.

The Village Cricket Bat
Took a punt on the bat for my son who plays a decent level at club cricket after he smashed one of his expensive bats to pieces. Said if he didn't like it I would use and after a few knock up in the garden net sessions I haven't seen it since. Guess I am not getting to use it.
I got my new bat in time to use it in the last game of the season (which happened to be my 70th birthday). As a treat the skipper let me open the batting. The bat felt wonderful, nicely weighted, and I was able to place balls far more accurately than I had with my old bat. I'd just reached my highest score of the season when unfortunately I pulled my hamstring, and had to retire (but at least I got a not out). The bat was in no way to blame. Hopefully I will be fully recovered and ready to swing this lovely piece of willow by next season.

Great bat. Great service. Played the bat in a couple of games this season. Its really easy to play with and scores runs!
Only played two matches with the new bat, but already seeing the quality. Balance is near perfect and the ball pings of it when middled. Can recommend.
